Privacy Policy

Effective June 19, 2025

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how EMSat Pty Ltd ("EMSat", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles information when you use our marketing website at emsat.com and our product application at app.emsat.com.

By using either service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have questions or requests regarding your personal data, contact us at privacy@emsat.com.

Information we collect

emsat.com (marketing website)

When you interact with our website we may collect:

  • Contact and waitlist forms — name, email address, organisation, role, intended use case, and message content.
  • Analytics data — pages visited, referrer URL, browser type, device type, and approximate IP-derived location, collected via Google Analytics 4.
  • Error and performance data — JavaScript errors, performance traces, and session replays collected by Sentry. Replays may capture visible page content at the time of an error.
  • Bot detection signals — browser and network signals processed by Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that form submissions originate from a human visitor. This data is sent directly to Cloudflare and is not stored by EMSat.
  • Infrastructure logs — standard web server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days.

app.emsat.com (EMSat Monitor)

When you use the EMSat Monitor application we collect:

  • Account information — email address, display name, profile photo URL, and sign-in provider (Google or email/password), via Firebase Authentication.
  • Organisation data — team name and subscription status.
  • Site data — facility name, geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), region, and country for sites you create.
  • Emissions estimation data — estimation parameters, target dates, plume and emission rate results, and associated processed satellite imagery that you submit or that is generated on your behalf.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and waitlist registrations submitted through our website.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the EMSat Monitor application and its features.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent form submissions.
  • To diagnose technical errors and monitor application performance.
  • To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve our services.

Third-party processors

We use the following third-party services to operate our website and application. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf under contractual obligations.

Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager

Used to collect anonymised website usage analytics. GA4 may process your IP address and browsing behaviour. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Sentry

Used for error tracking, performance monitoring, and session replay. Sentry may receive JavaScript error details, stack traces, performance metrics, and partial session recordings. Session replays may include visible page content at the time of capture.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Used to verify that form submissions are made by human visitors without displaying a visible challenge. Turnstile processes browser and network signals on behalf of Cloudflare. This site uses Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible mode — please review Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Airtable

Used to store contact form and waitlist submissions received through emsat.com.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Our primary cloud infrastructure provider. Application data, form submissions, and processed satellite imagery are stored in AWS services located in the ap-southeast-2 region (Sydney, Australia).

Firebase / Google Cloud

Used for user authentication in the EMSat Monitor application. Firebase Authentication processes sign-in credentials and identity tokens.

Cookies

Our website uses the following cookies:

_ga, _gid

Set by Google Analytics to distinguish users and sessions. Persist for up to 2 years (_ga) and 24 hours (_gid).

cf_clearance, __cf_bm

Set by Cloudflare as part of bot detection. Typically session-scoped or short-lived.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect analytics functionality but will not prevent you from using the site.

Data storage and retention

All application and form data is stored in AWS infrastructure in the ap-southeast-2 region (Sydney, Australia).

  • Contact and waitlist submissions — retained for as long as operationally necessary to respond to your enquiry.
  • Analytics data — subject to Google Analytics' default retention period (up to 14 months).
  • Infrastructure access logs — retained for up to 30 days.
  • Application account and estimation data — retained for the duration your account is active. Upon account deletion, data is removed within a reasonable period.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@emsat.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
